This course is designed for someone truly starting from scratch.  If you have a domain name or a website, this course can work for you, but be sure to read this page very carefully and follow the Continue links.

Please read the following three boxes and then Continue with the one that best describes you.

You've got nothing.

Just to be clear…

  • You have not registered a domain name.  (www.whatever.com)
  • You don’t have a website hosting account.

If that’s the case…

You Own A Domain Name

You’ve registered a domain name.  In other words, you own a domain name.  But you don’t have a hosting account yet.  That means when you try to visit your site, there’s either nothing or some placeholder page.  But you really don’t have a website yet.

You Have A Website Already

If you’ve got a website already, this course can still work for you.  Just be sure of the following:

  1. Your site is a WordPress site and is not with www.WordPress.com.  WordPress.com offers hobbled, communal versions of WordPress and won’t work well for this course.
  2. You can login to your Dashboard.
